How to file — Damage Compensation
The five steps
- File an incident report within 72 hours, online or at any regional office. Keep the receipt.
- Document the damage — photographs and an itemised loss schedule (the damage survey).
- Lodge the claim within 90 days of the incident, with the incident report receipt, damage survey, and proof of ownership or tenancy. Pay the assessment fee (see fee schedule).
- Assessor visit — within 15 business days of lodgement.
- Determination — within 45 days of lodgement. Awards are paid to the account named on the claim.

Claiming the hardship supplement? Include a household income certificate at step 3. Claiming business interruption? Include the business registration certificate.
Appeals lie to the Corridor Claims Tribunal within 30 days of determination.
